in the market for a general use laptop.

My goal is under $550 is possible. buying used is not a problem for me at all. I buy most everything else used, why not a computer as well?

or this even it's older I know, but I intend on using a laptop for simple functions and mild old games. Though, the internet needs to work wirelessly.

Does it really matter if they look like toys as you call em ?

There newer and will allow you to run new applications without a problem and there better.

The first 2 that daisymtc posted are pretty good for that price and they both use ddr2 ram.

no no, I'm not talking about how they look. I'm talking about what's inside of them compared to the toshiba. While I'm looking for a budget system, I see no point in buying something underpowered just because it's brand new.

I also want t make this clear . I DO NOT want vista. If i happen to get one with vista, I'm wiping it clean and installing XP.(mostly because i also have office for xp. not willing to pay $120 more for something I already have)



Yep I'm on the nation, same username too.I only use it for the ICD section and the b/s/t though. Most everybody on the nation is childish and annoying.

Yeah Vista sucks, all new ones comes installed with it now but it's easy to just go back to XP.
 
so what do you think of the toshiba? or shoudl i just go with teh old alienware for $300?


I just went to www.dell.com/usaw and used the code11792-dnpshy3. What do you think of that?
