In the market..

As you all often see,

I'm in the market for a new laptop or an ultrabook. First and fore-most: I'm a student. Don't need this for anything TOO fancy, but I don't want some P.O.S either.

Specs/Qualifications:
-HDMI Port -Relatively Lightweight
-Ethernet Port -Long Battery Life
-Nice Webcam -High(er) end video card.

I'd prefer it to have a blu-ray disc, but it's not necessary what-so-ever. The main things I'll be doing are traveling with it, taking it to class, typing documents, skyping, and hopefully watching movies through my TV.

Price range is 1k and below. Am I hoping for too much from a sub-$1000 laptop/ultrabook?

Can you prioritize your requirement?

Ultrabook don't usually has DVD drive/ blu-ray. And as you said lightweight, how heavy is not acceptable to you? 2kg? 2.5kg?

And some laptop has good graphic card, but no blu-ray. Do you intend to play game? Or just want a slightly better GPU?

Sorry for the lack of response on my side; I've been out of town all weekend.

HDMI Port is a must. Nice webcam as far as clarity goes, is a must. Long battery life is a must. A video card that can easily play 1080p movies is a must. I won't be doing any gaming, so as long is it can handle the HD movies, then all is well. Anything 5 lbs and under (2.2 kg) is preferred. Windows 8 is preferred.

The Ethernet port is optional, as well as the blu-ray drive. I prefer the size of an Ultrabook, as well as the portability; but it seems that most UB's these days cut out necessary features in order to be qualified as an UB.

I did some searching and stumbled upon the Acer Aspire M5, but it seemed to be lacking in the webcam and video card department.

Does this information help narrow it down?
