Incompatible Processor Installed AMD 955 BE

Hello everyone,

I recently purchased an AMD Phenom II 955 BE CPU. I have an N-Alvorix RS880 uATX motherboard which came stock with a p6733w-b computer which I bought from wal-mart. After installation which was easy, I turned the computer on and received a message about "Incompatible Processor Detected" and then it shuts down. I think it may be a TDP issue. Is there anything I can do or do I need a new Motherboard or CPU?

The board only supports 95W processors. It has a pretty lowend power phase setup.

I would get a new board rather than different CPU, but it's up to you.

The best cpu you could do is probably a Phenom II 945, it really depends if you want to overclock or not which route to go.

Alright, thanks guys. I'll try to find a new motherboard as the CPU is already bought. Or maybe I could just exchange it for a lower CPU.
