inconsistent wireless

for christmas i got a new pc. well its set up in my area and has a wireless adapter that picks up signal from our wireless router. keep in mind our other computer is in the same room. well my computer always has excellent signal, but on numerous occasions it will constantly disconnect. any thoughts on why this might happen? my uncle updated the driver for the wireless card, so it happens less often.

on thing i'm thinking of doing is getting a wired connection. is there any way i can do that by using the other computer in the room?

Had same issue I just changed the channel on the router from 6 to 11. You may be getting interference from other devices.

microwave, cordless phones other wireless nets all can interfere with the wireless frequency change the channel and try it again
