i didnt say it was.... and anyway, your argument is null and void at the moment, you havent justified it, "more bulk than needed" then needed for what, what if you need EVERY SINGLE tool and functionn it has, then its not "more bulk than needed" is it, your argument was relative to an individual users requirements....

nd lee, althought that code there IS going to echo what you put in the single quotes, you havent difined the variable, so actually your example would be 4 lines long if it was done properly...

i was showing how you would make it echo/print "i have $a2" if you didn't want $a2 to be a variable, so there would be no need to set the variable
