I need to know how i can increase bandwidth of a computer which is included in a shared internet connection. The total bandwidth of the network is 2mbps while each system gets speeds of 150-250 kbps. Please help meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee........................................................................................................................................................:(

250kb = 2mb connection.

Take your connection and multiply x8 250x8 = 2000 = 2mb or divide 2000 by 8 = 250kb

Networking 4 computers doesn't cut the connection it just shares it as I have a 22mb connection and have dl speeds at 1.6mb = 1600x8 = 20mb.

The only issue is if I go over 1.1mb in speeds I tend to lag other networked users ^-^

wrong, thats from bytes (B) to bits (b) from what he said he was getting 250kb (kilobits) which isnt the same as Bytes

I would think that there would only be a bottleneck if they were all downloading or uploading at the same time... go to each pc one at a time
turn the others off, and download / upload or whatever and report back what the results are.

did the original poster mean bit or bytes tho he could have meant on a speedtest it 250 kilbits or whilst downloading it is 250 kilobytes

you could try to disable the firewall (port 80)in your router to open
a litle bit more the bandwitch to your computer.
or else try to find inside the router an setting like "DMZ"
and put there the IP of the computer that you need more bandwitch.
to find your computer ip :
Start
Run
cmd
enter
inside the command prompt:
ipconfig
write the number in front of IP Adress in a paper and put that number in the DMZ menu
inside of the routter
