Increasing ram to increase video memory

i have an acer aspire 5742 with an intel core i5, 3Gb Ram and intel hd graphics, it has only allocated 128mb to the video memory and 1700mb for full memory, i was wondering if i upgraded my RAM memory to 6gb will it automatically update the video memory usage to a higher value, as i cannot increase it myself as they have locked it, any ideas? or suggestions?

Throw all the RAM you want at it, it won't increase the video performance.

no i have an Aspire 5742 with an core i3 and 4gb memory. i have the same Graphics as you. 128MB video dedicated and 1700MB total. the ram will only speed up your laptop performance wise but not graphics wise

VideoRAM does not mean much to the performance. So the only thing you can do is upgrade your graphics card, which unfortunately is nearly impossible :/
