I am not too happy with my current ISP. Their customer service is terrible. However, my e-mail is connected to them, so I hesitate to leave. I would like to get a web based service that is independent of my ISP. You all seem to have a lot of experience and knowledge so I would appreciate as much input as possible. Please recommend the services you like and why. Thank you in advance.

Gmail. Gmail. Gmail. I cannot emphasize that enough.
1: You get a TON of storage space.
2: It's one of the least hijacked webmail providers around (compared to Yahoo and Hotmail, which regularly get hijacked).
3: You get very little spam. Google has a very good spam filter.
4: It's simple to use.
5: You get everything else that comes with a standard Google account.
