my computer is heating up so i bought a antic 900 case but i have a virus to so does a virus just infect the hardrive or do i need a know mother board?

No, a virus wont make your computer heat up. I recommend you running a virus scan like AVG its freeware

his question seems to be whether or not a virus can hurt anyting besides the harddrive, not can to the virus heat up his computer if i understand correctly. no, a virus cannot hurt any hardware in your computer. it cant even hurt the harddrive physically. a virus is just software, i would recommend doing what ThatGuy16 said and scan for a virus, but if that doesnt find it just reformat and reinstall your OS. start fresh with your new case!
