Insanely sticky keyboard

Hey guys. Some idiot spilled an entire cup of alcoholic punch onto my laptop a few week ago. Thankfully, my X201 survived and drained all the liquid out of the bottom. However, the keyboard has become insanely sticky and many keys crunch and get stuck. I've tried popping a few keys off and using rubbing alcohol on them, but they just stick again when the alcohol dries. I even poured alcohol directly onto the keyboard and allowing it to drain through, but same thing, once it dries out the keyboard becomes sticky again.

Does anyone have any other suggestions on how to clean this keyboard?

You could check on Ebay for a new keyboard for your laptop. They aren't too expensive and are easy to replace.

Throw it in the dishwasher.

Seriously, though-- alcohol won't dissolve the sugars from the drink, which is your major problem here, so a thorough dousing with warm or hot water to flush the sugars out, then a dewatering using alcohol and then thorough drying-out time before powering it up (you think it's been long enough? Try twice that long-- we're talking a good week, at least).

The problem I would have with the dishwasher in this instance is that any soap residue in the machine that manages to deposit itself inside the electronics would become instant corrosion once power is applied.

I'd remove the keyboard, and clean that separately rather then washing the whole laptop.

LOL use of some obscene websites will do that for ya.....

P.s. Just so i'm not spamming this thread, I would tear the btch apart and clean her dry.......... Oh no i didn't :P I'm bad...

Of course... silly of me to assume that was a given.
