instalation help

Alright, so i downloaded a computer game off a torrent site (i wanted to try it before i spent money on the game)
anyways, heres a list of what came in the folder.
File name / Size / File type
1- avd-ee3 7KB Msinfo document
2- avd-ee3.MDF 4,748,128KB MDF file
3- EE3 40,453 KB Application
4-Readme 5KB Text document
5-Reloaded 5kb MSinfo document


I tried opening "EE3" to install it and it said " This Application has failed to start because binkw32.dll was not found. re installing the application may fix this problem"

All the read me had in it was the Cd key.

What can i do to make this work

(i have dual boot with mint8 on one partition and Windows xp on the other, so if i need to switch to linux to do things to it i can.

I figured it out, i downloaded Daemon tools, which is a dvd drive immulater, and ran the MDF file with that, it worked perfectly.

I don't know why your trying to get this thread shut down, i was asking for help, yes, sure what i was doing is considered illigal, but i was going to buy the game if i liked it, i didnt want to spend 60 dollars on a game that i didnt like, I'm sure other people could have found this thread helpful, perhaps they have gone through something similar. It's not like i was robbing a bank. I find your comment offensive. I was asking for help. If you don't know the answer to the question, then don't reply. It really isnt a big deal, maybe ill think twice before i help anyone on this forum again.
 
Well, I'm sorry, it's just it's like test-driving a car and then driving it all the way down to Mexico (true story) and then returning the car expecting to buy it. You'll have to ignore me sometimes, I get very cynical when I see a thread asking a Q about pirated software. Please forgive me.

It's cool, Lately ive bought alot of games (none of which i play anymore) because the game play really wasn't much fun. I wasted alot of money that way, so i wanted to make sure it was worth it. Ive had similar problems when trying to download diffrent versions of linux. So figuring this out has helped me out alot, But if i wouldnt have figured it out on my own, since you already posted in the thread, there was a good chance that it would have gone unanswered. I'm not a thief, And i know what i was asking was unorthadox. Sorry for snapping on you bro (although i was trying to be very civil while doing so) I really like this forum, Sorry for angering you bro.
 
i see you like AOE. I played the first one and loved it,
any other RTS you could suggest? ive beaten Warcraft 1,2 3 (with all the expansions) like 100 times, but then i stopped playing comuter games for a while, lately ive been in the mood to pick up RTS again, but i dont know where to start, eventually ill get starcraft 2 but im pretty broke right now (and my demo just ran out) it was alot of fun while it lasted.
I deffinetly want a newer game. I liked how in AOE you could go through the ages, which i thought was an awesome feature.
 
Well, have you played AOE II or AOM? Warzone 2100 is a really cool futuristic RTS, with cyborgs and jets and the ability to design your military vehicles. And it's free. I just got AOM and AOMX, and I'm crazy about it, it's what AOE should've been in my opinion.
 
I liked AOE2, and im planning on getting starcraft 2. But i really like the whole midevil theme, and i think it was Empire earth where you start out in the middle ages and then you keep upgranding until eventually you have nukes and such, that was the first one, so i wanted to check out the third one and see if it is still awesome like the first one, or if they killed it, ya know?
 
Never heard of Empire earth.
Warzone 2100 has nukes, laser satellites, bombs to attach to jets you design, all sorts of fun stuff.
I like the medieval theme too, and the ancient theme present in Age of Mythology. Are you aware of aok.heavengames.com, where you can get a whole bunch of great mind-blowing campaigns for AOE II?
 
I like AOE 2 alot, but that came out 11 years ago I want to try a game that came out in the last few years, see what is new out there and if any of them are worth getting ya know? Have you played to new starcraft? its pretty cool. If you havent, i would deffintly suggest trying to get your hands on the demo
 
Do you think it would run on my rig? I have a AMD Athlon 64 3500+ CPU at 2.2 GHz, single-core, 2.5 GB RAM, and a nVidia GeForce 7300GT with 256 MB VRAM. Running Windows 7.

I highly recommend Age of Mythology, it may be 7 years old, but it still rocks.
Warzone 2100 has been around for a while, but they release new versions. Google can help you.

Playing multiplayer online with all three games is great, you can get bored with the AI in AOE I-II and sometimes AOM, WZ2100 is pretty great though.
 
Yea it should work fine on your rig, i dont think RTS are too demanding like FPSes are. imna hit the sack, i added you to my contacts, ill tlak to you more about this soon, imna delete this thread (im not really sure if i know how to do that) si it doesnt have like 18 million posts of a personal conversation hahaha,ill tlak to you again soon, sorry again about earlier.
