I have a:
Dell Inspiron 1520
Intel Duo T7500 @ 2.2 GHz
3 GB Ram installed
nVIDIA 8600m GT
Samsung 225 GB HDD
DVD+-RW
External keyboard used
Wireless mouse
So, I want to try and run Far Cry 2 on my computer. I haven't bought it yet, and I'm wondering if everyone out there thinks it will be ok to run on my machine. I'm usually on games like Flight Simulator 2002, Oblivion GOTY, Sim City Deluxe, GTA: VC and SA. (GTA-VC is my favorite game of all time). Most of the time I can set the graphics in those games to the max, I can go close to max in Oblivion and still not see a problem.
Reason I ask about Far Cry 2 is that I don't usually play newer games cause I don't want to fry my laptop. I need this thing for work as well as play. I have my laptop on a cooling rack to help the fan work better. I also try to stay VERY aware of temperature. If I hear the fan kick on, I get off the games and let the system idle for awhile. (temp doesn't get that high, but I'm pretty cautious, maybe too much so)
I loved Far Cry on the XBox 360 (even though I hate that console) and I would love to have it on my laptop. So I looked at the minimum stats today. It seems that I have at least the minimum on most everything (max on the GPU listed), except for the CPU.
It says a minimum CPU of:
Pentium 4 3.2 Ghz, Pentium D 2.66 Ghz.
Aren't the Pentium 4's single-core processors? Would both those GHz speeds apply as strictly to my machine since I have a (newer) DUO Core at 2.2 GHz? And yes I know the Pent. D is a duo core.
Lets hear it
