hi i was having a clean of my add/remove program thing and there was a few things there that i no longer require mainly old casino software and some games daughter downloaded, and when i clcik to remove them i get the above message could not be found.. anyway round this? or am i stuck with them?

It seems that the programs were removed directly from the C:\ drive. Try browsing to C:\Program Files\ and peeking around for the programs you were looking for. If you find them, use the uninstaller that SHOULD be in the same directory as the program. If there isn't one, (carefully) browse to C:\WINDOWS and looking for .exe or .msi files in a format something like <program name>-uninstall.exe or .msi.
Windows will warn you that there are system files, just click the link to display the files.

If you still couldn't find the files, use this ONLY AS A LAST RESORT!
Go into regedit by doing this:
1. Do WinKey+R>type regedit.exe>Press enter
2. Regedit opens.
3. Go to the file menu> Save As>Save the file as regbackup.reg>press Okay
4. Once that finishes, do CTRL+F and type the name of the program in the box and press Okay
5. Click on a revelant folder in the right pane, and right click and delete the folder ONLY IF IT IS THE EXACT NAME OF THE PROGRAM OR MANUFACTURER
6. Close regedit and delete the folder in C:\Program Files\ (permenently delete it with Shift+Delete) and reboot your computer.
