I have to plan this project, would need some help how to do it!

The organisation would like all their users to have access to the internet. The business has requested that you configure an internet gateway for their users in the office.

The meeting identifies it needs to incorporate the following requirements:

1. Internet service via a reputable service provider
2. Ensure minimal disruption to current LAN services when implementing
3. Enable required security measure

Part 1. Assess the client's hardware requirements with consideration to their requirements for an internet gateway.

Part 2. contact vendors and obtain technical specifications in obtaining any hardware, software and configuration the existing LAN with internet access

Part 3. In the form of a presentation provide a recommendation to the management of the business for configuration of internet access that includes a plan for implementation. The presentation also should incorporate the specific of hardware, software and ISP that will be required to detailing any costs that may be involved.

I would not use cable, that is just me. I would use BB DSL, Corporate level...in case you decide to host a web server or any other reasons that would generate high traffic.
depending on how many clients you have that are going to connect, the equipment from the ISP shold be ok. You might want to have access points in meeting rooms and you may need VPN's for telecommuters or sales people. You probably want win2003 or 2008 with active directory(AD), you may need seperate DNS and DHCP servers...i have installed both on the same server that has the AD. You probably should have some sort of a firewall like ISA server, which for that you will need another server. You will need an ILS server if you are going to do netmeetings , not sure what you would need for live meetings. Then there is email, depending on size...you may need exchange server. Don't for get about anti-virus for the workstations and the server...i think you can get AV plug-ins for ISA server.
for w/s's depends what the clients are going to do, you may want to just get them notebooks they can dock, so they can also work at home ...like if their is an H1N1 outbreak... of course you may have to spring for their home BB.

All the major ISP companies, Time Warner, AT&T, and the Bells all provide these services when you sign up for their business fiber lines. They also do quality control and assurances with their clients.

They will come out and install their equipment and hook it into yours, so you are on their WAN, and all you need to manage is your network/subnets and your hardware.
