Hey guys I need some help with an idea I had. I running updates in an office which kid of limits when I can do SP3 updates since it takes so long. I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to have the computer automatically shutdown or restart after the install completed without me actually being present. I tried to write a batch file and inf to run SP3 and then automatically shutdown when it was complete but I don't think that Windows can detect when SP3 has actually completed.
Also I was wondering if anyone knew anyway of speeding up the install so that it would take less than an hour. You'll probably want to know some specs for the machine so here it is:
Dell Dimension 4300
Pentium 4
512MB RAM
20GB HDD
