Install Ubuntu without GRUB

Hi everybody. I have a Ubuntu 12.04 USB stick and I want to install it for a second time. But when I insert my plopt boot manager disk and plug in my USB stick, I stopped because I remember last time I install Ubuntu, it came with the sucking GRUB. And I could not forget it because when my Ubuntu crashes, I really have difficulties uninstall it (luckily I succeed using mbrfix).
Now I felt I had enough of the slow speed my windows xp. I want my lovely Ubuntu back but I hate GRUB so much. Is there any way Ito install Ubuntu without GRUB? I don't mind working with my MRB.
Thanks!

Trouble removing. Grub really replaces my mbr. If it does not comes with the installation, I don't have to do finger gymnastics( code typing) to fix my booting in Xp. Also, even I fixed it, I also have trouble shutting down the laptop after fixing. The program closes but does not shut down, even for ten minutes. I pressed the shut down button about fifty times but nothing happen. Really frustrating.

Best way to handle this then is to use two separate drives. Install linux on one drive and windows on another, and make sure to install grub to the linux drive. Set bios to boot from the Linux drive first. If you ever want to remove linux, just format the drive and switch bios order.

Otherwise, learn to live with grub. I personally have never had any issues re-installing the mbr like you mentioned, though I'm unsure of what steps you used to do so. I normally just boot into a rescutux live disk and click the fix mbr button; it's a pretty simple fix.

Even if you did something like use WUBI (which I would never suggest, WUBI is horrible), it's still going to corrupt the MBR when you remove ubuntu. There's really no way around not corrupting (at least easily) the MBR for windows when formatting off linux.
