Installed new cpu but bios and system don't recognize speed

I went from a 3200+ to a 3400+ and my system and bios say that it's a 3400+ but it only runs at 2Ghz when it should be running at 2.2Ghz. What's up here?
 
You either received a mispackaged cpu or the memory timings are not set correctly. You even need a bios update to have the board fully detect the actual speed. Look over these to see what the story is. Hopefully a quick trip into the bios will see this corrected.
 
How do I see the memory timings? The bios says recognizes the 3400+ but it says the frequency is only 2Ghz where as my cool n quiet driver says it's a 2.2Ghz. Should I flash the same bios again?
 
Ok I got it working now, thanks guys! I just re-flashed my bios and now it recognizes the speed. Thanks again!

I downloaded that program and I love it! The only thing is that my pcprobe says my cpu temp is 36 C but that program says it's 22 C. Which one is correct?

Also are there any other programs that can tell me the core of my cpu like venice or san diego, etc? Or a free video bench mark tool?
 
From what I've seen on cpu temp readings you often are forced to get the reading direct from the same sensor on the board itself unless you install one into the heat sink with a monitor attached. The 36C temp reading is far closer to the exact there especially if you are talking about the Asus utility for temp and voltage readings. That's still much better then the 53C idle I am currently seeing on the Probe readings.

There are a ton of freeware and shareware benchmark, system info, and video tools to browse around for. A great I came acros recently can be downloaded free at http://www.alexnolan.net/ That will give you a full breakdown on all not some hardwares installed on you system. It doesn't give you temp readings however. But then there are some places to look for free stuff like video as well as system benchmark utilities. Let's start looking.
