Hi everyone,
I'm new to this site and looks like there is a vast amount of knowledge here so Hopefully someone can help me?

I have this motherboard

http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Pr...ilID=678&DetailName=Feature&MenuID=24&LanID=0

it supports
º Dual-channel DDR2 memory architecture
º 4 x 240-pin DDR2 DIMM socket support up to 16GB
º Support DDR2 667/533 DDR SDRAM

I needed more memory and asked a friend if they had any ddr2 memory. I got 4 chips of DDR2-1066 x 2gig's each.

The system would not post. According to crucials website DDR2-800 is backwards compatible to DDR2-667/533. I had to pull my battery and reset the CMOS to boot back up with my original memory. Does anyone know if DDR2-1066 is backwards compatible?

Your board doesn't support 1066mhz sticks. Your board may work with 800mhz sticks though, but i'm not sure. Find some ram that your board supports.

Try this. Since the board only supports up to 667. Try putting the 800 back in. Go into the bios and manually set the speed to 667. Shut down, put the 1066 back in and see if it will boot. Dont know if its the memory that wont backclock or the bios freaking out. But it might work.
