installing 7900 gt.

MIK3daG33K: Sorry I accidently edited your post (im new to moderator and didn't pay attention to what button i hit). Please re-post your problem.
 
The problem is the plug that goes into the 7900 are two rows of three specially designed for PCI-E, not two rows of 4 seen here. If you do not have a plug with two rows of three then you have the wrong psu.
 
Ok here is original question:
here goes a stupid question. I have only built a couple pc's so bear with me. Im building a new system and using an nvidia 7900 GT. It is powered by one of the 2x2 plugs. My psu only supplies one of the 2x2's and I had to plug that into my motherboard. with the card came a Y adaptor that has 2 4x1's on one end and a 2x2 on the opposite end. Am i suppose to plug 2 4x1's into that cable and then plug the 2x2 end into the graphics cards to that I am using basically two lines to power the graphics card?

please help dont want to fry the card. and pny does not explain crap in their book or website infact both only covers up to the 6800 which gets powered differently.

2 rows of 4, or 2 rows of 3? I don't have either of those types..the only 2 by is a 2 by 2. Are you sure about this? Got reply on other board saying yes that you plug two of the regular molex connectors into the adaptor and the 2x2 in the graphics card. Also what goes directly into the graphics card is a 2x2. then they gave they gave a Y which has a 2x2 and then 2 3x1's which i figured you should just plugged into the regular molex and 1 was missing because you were only using +12 or something, but you are saying that there is a special connector?

ok i see what you are saying what goes into the graphics card is a 2x3 which my psu does not supply, but what is the y adaptor for. it looks like they want me to plug two of the regular molex (4x1's) into the end of the adaptor and then plug the 2x3 into the graphics card.

There is an adapter, but really you should have 2 rows of three as i showed you in the picture i posted. It won't hurt anything to use an adapter though.
