I just put in a new IDE 80GB hard drive into my Dell computer to replace an old one. I popped in the Windows 2000 Pro disc, formatted the hard drive and installed Windows, but when I go to boot up, it says that no IDE drive is installed...thoughts?

How has you configed your HDD/HDD`s ? Also what type of IDE cable are you using?

Has it got 2 or 3 connectors, etc... ?

Cheers :)

Yeah Just put your HDD on MASTER and plug one on the IDE cables into the HDD and the other on the IDE1 mobo connector and that should be ok.

Hmm try CS/ thats Cable select. If that dont work you might wanna try a new ribbon cable.
