Installing a new motherboard

Hi all, I recently bought an ATI X1800XL card and it will not fit my motherboard (the power connectors are in the way). I am looking at getting the ASUS P5RD1-V Deluxe, or P5GDC-V DELUXE motherboard (Any advice on chosing would be great). I have built systems from scratch but not installed a new motherboard into a working system, is it just a case of installing the drivers for the new motherboard?

if you're lucky, you can repair windows and install all the new drivers, but no guarantees. To be safe, a reformat is best

What do you exactly mean by repair windows? I have heard from a few people that since I would only be swapping the motherboard and that there are no problems with the system I should have no problems?

If the motherboard uses the same chipset you might be allright. Otherwise a Repair Reinstall (put in the XP CD, accept the agreement, choose Repair) will usually fix it. Here's another way that should work, though

Cheers ceewi1, I wil give that a try. Motherboard is coming on monday. I will let you know the outcome. Thanks again.
