Installing AMD Phenom II in Dell Inspiron 570... Ran into a problem please help!

Did you clean the old heatsink compound off the processor and heatsink?
Did you apply NEW heatsink compound?

If you didn't clean and apply new compound it is going to overheat.

I did clean it but I'm running star wars old republic which is a high end game and it gets pretty dang hot!

You need to remember the 965 is a big step up from your Athlon. It uses a lot more power and creates a lot more heat.

I did apply new Thermal paste I got from best buy but I
May of put too much on... Would that be a prob? Also I thought it was gonna be silver and it was white

That's the cheap crappy stuff then. Arctic silver is much better. And you only need just under the size of a pea.

Found some on my way now to get it. So u sa a size of a pea huh?

Arctic Silver is much better at transferring heat than that other crap.
