Installing card

I'm about to install a GeForce 6600 AGP (Which doesn't seem to exist, I can only find info about a 6600 GT AGP  ). I've never installed a card before, so has anyone got any tips or advice before I take a screwdriver to my computer?

Take the side off the computer. Lay the computer on its side so you can put the card in. Push ths card in the slot easy. Thenput the screw in it and put your case back together.

You should remove it before you put the new one in, if the old one is an AGP then you'll have to removie it first.

And make sure to touch your case for a few seconds before touching the card, just to get rid of any static electricity. (it may not be necessary, but better safe than sorry).

yes. You can only run one video card at a time. Remove the old one. Unplug the power to computer. Install the new one than turn the computer on and install the drivers for the card

Some people say that you should have your computer plugged cause it is grounded then but I say don't leave it plugged. And before installing a new card, uninstall the drivers.

Card installed successfully. Now text looks very blurry. I've played around with the gamma, contrast and all that stuff. Can anyone help?

the best thing you can do is ask a friend of yours to help with that,.. since there isnt a remote acces program for those settings ;)

Ya that happened to my friend's computer when I went and installed an old ATi 64 mb video card of mine... The text seemed to look better with integrated graphics... hmmm... Oh well, I got 35 bucks for it :D

I've played around a bit more, and it's all perfect now. I'm just realising now with this graphics card that my display was FAR too bright. It looks great now :D.
