OK. So I am trying to install this on my laptop. http://chromeos.hexxeh.net/

I am lost.

Directions- http://chromeos.hexxeh.net/wiki/doku.php?id=windows_instructions
  • Make sure you have extracted the cd-image (the .img) archive (.tar), you can use 7-Zip for this. When I download it, it is (something).tar.gz . I can extract it to a .tar, but I can't figure out how to get that to a .img. I tried renaming it, but that doesn't boot with it then.
  • Launch Windows Image Writer, select the image-cd (ChromeOS-Flow.img) and your USB drive letter.I understand this.
  • Click on “Write”. The installation image is copied to the key. (You may need administrator rights).I understand this.
  • The key will be formatted to copy the image. Once done, close the program and restart from the USB key.I understand this.

Put the tar file in a new folder, rt click on the file and choose Extract Here. That should create the .img file in the folder

So extract from .tar.gz->.tar->.img

is what you are saying?

EDIT- I swear I already tried that... but it's working. Thanks.
