Installing fresh copy of XP home on new hdd, mb, cpu

First of all, I got a new motherboard, processor and hdd yesterday. I have been trying to install a fresh copy of XP Home on the 250 gb drive...I was able to install it but after installing a few updates and rebooting the 'safe boot' screen comes up and any selection made will bring me to the XP boot up screen, but before the logo fully appears the computer will reboot and do the same thing. Right now I am using the same computer but with an older Windows disk, which worked fine. I have heard something about registering your copy? I registered and activated my new copy last night during the 15 mins it worked.

Secondly, the 250 gb hdd was recognized last night as 238xxx mb but now is showing only 138xxx gb on it.

Any help is much appreciated, I am at my wits' end! Thank you for reading! :)

I think 138xxx is because you are using another OS,so it might have used the remaining space.

I went back into setup with the new XP home disk and it then recognized the 250 gb again. I installed XP home on another partition and it ran fine until I restarted a few times and then it would not boot up again. It will go to the OS selection screen and it will go into the old OS but will reboot when going into XP home.

May be but looks like hardware incompatible problem.Because such things happened to me when i tried to install the hardwares which are not compatible to my system.

I have the other OS running on a different partition and it runs fine, XP Home will reboot when I pick it at the OS selection screen. Is this possibly the fault of the installation disk?

Try reinstalling it again, and then install all of the drivers for everything as soon as you can. Not sure if it will work but I think it's worth a try.
