Installing HDD problem

So I bought an OEM 1.5T HDD and when I installed it, Windows asked for a driver. It's funny cos I use XP Pro x64 and I don't usually need to install any driver. anyway, I was still able to partition, format and use the new HDD like normal but the annoying thing is that every time I start up windows, it keeps asking for a driver. I went to the manufacturer's site to download the driver but there wasn't any.
any help would be appreciated.

Go into device manager see if there are any entries with question marks or exclamation points on them and tell me what they are.

I checked and there's no flag at all. in fact, the HDD is listed but the Found New Hardware Wizard still shows up every time I boot up.

What piece of hardware does it list that it says it needs a driver for? It's possible you have it on a different controller? What pc or motherboard are you using?

the new HDD. in the hardware manager, it's listed there yet I still have this problem. I'm using a Gigabyte ep35-ds4.

well without any detail of what it could be I have no idea. The device manager must show an entry that requires a driver. Unless the driver windows installed didn't install correctly.
