Installing Ndiswrapper on linux?

I'm very new to linux, I have been a windows user my whole life and I'm use to double click and it install's. The ndiswrapper I found I had to put on a usb (computer with linux no internet) and I am not sure how to install it. I read the directions but got confused so can someone please help me. Thank you.

If you have no internet at all to the computer your in for a long time.

You need a kernel devel installed, (which it has to match your kernel now) and many other dependences.

What distro are you running?

ubuntu, I can't load onto a external hard drive from my other computers and hook it up to there?

you can, its just a lot of stuff to get.

however i could have sworn the newest version of ubuntu had ndiswrapper pre-installed

I couldn't find it, where would I find it on there?
