installing new software

Hello and thanks for the support. I am using the trial version of Norton Antivirus that came shipped with my PC. I plan on purchasing Norton 360. Should I totally uninstall the trial version and all traces of Norton before I install the new software?
 
Well it depends if the trial version is the trial Norton 360.
If it is, then you'll only have to purchase the CD Key if it isn't I suggest re-installing, but don't forget to disconnect from any internet connection while changing A-V.

Good choice on the A-V, I personally use Norton Internet Security (version 2005) and I'm satisfied with it :D
