Installing SSD on laptop. What do I need to know?

So I recently purchased a samsung 840 120gb and I wanted to install it onto my MSI Laptop. These are the specs on my laptop:
2nd Generation i7
Nvidia GTX 560
12 Gb of ram DDR3
1 TB HD
Windows 7 Home Premium

I wanted to know what I needed to do before replacing my hard drive? How can you move the OS over (do you absolutely need the OS disc that no laptop ever ships with anymore)? I tried reading some guides but I found them to be quite confusing. It sounds like it would be a simple process but I don't want to mess anything up.

I am not certain if my laptop has two hard drives (I would need to take a look) but does this really effect the set up?

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks guys.

Since you don't have the install DVDs anyway, cloning the original drive to the ssd will work perfectly fine, just follow the tutorial in the link provided by whizzy above.

Even if you had the install DVDs, a clean install isn't necessary and would require much more time and effort.
