Installing the driver twice?

I installed the video card driver about 4 days ago. I have been haveing trouble viewing videos and while trying to figure that out I got a message that the driver did not have the latest version. I installed the driver CD again, this time online. How can I know if its not taking double space?

It doesn't work like that. The new driver will be written over the old one, or the old one will be deleted by the installer before you install the new one.
