Hi,

i'm using windows xp and vista both in a same computer.now i want to add ubuntu to my os list but i noticed that vista is using a advanced boot looder.so if i trie to install ubuntu (in a different partition) it will replace the vista boot looder.

so is there a problem?
yes, what can i do about it?

Ubuntu will install it's own boot loader, called GRUB, regardless. At the end of the Ubuntu installation, it will look for other OS's and list them, prompting you about GRUB. GRUB will then list each detected OS upon system start. You can change the GRUB file in Ubuntu to tweak timeout settings, default settings, and the order the OS's are listed. Or, if you prefer the Vista boot loader, you can reinstall it and it should detect Ubuntu as well.

It all boils down to leaving GRUB as-is, spending 5 minutes changing the settings for it, or spending 5 minutes reinstalling Vista's BL. All personal preference.
