I have 64 bit Vista that I have tried to install numerous times all with the same blue screen of death (BSOD):View attachment 2538 Help please. I was able to install my neighbors Windows XP but that will only last 30 days due to the activation and I didnt buy Vista fo nothing. XP loaded just fine I do not know what is going on. Any help would be much appreciated.

Still invalid!

boot from the vista disk and go to the repair section... it has a memory testing function there.
otherwise download memtest.

I did the Ram test multiple times with the same result. The results will not be displayed until after the test is complete and I never see the results because I get the BSOD. When I had XP install on there I went to windowshelp.microsoft.com and downloaded a program that scanned the computer to see if everything was compatible and it was. So Im still stuck. I cannot contact newegg until tomorrow about the disc if there might be something wrong with it but I wouldn't think anything would be wrong with the install disc. Anyone have any other suggestions? Ill also try to contact microsoft as well.

What about uninstalling one of my RAM modules and trying just one 2GB stick? I could try that! This is so gay. Microsoft wants money from me to troubleshoot their product that they sold to me. I bought it didn't I should have some sort of tech support for atleast 90 days or some trash.

the best way to test the ram would be to test it with memtest..
unfortunately i dont know how to download and use it...
i always just boot of a linux cd and do it that way..
so wait until someone here explains it for you.

yeah take a stick out... see how that goes... also mess around with which ram slot you put it in... try all that...

ah yes that must be the problem haha. you'll have to only have one stick of ram in... then install vista again.. and then put the other stick in.

i think.

:)
