installing windows xp! help!

Of the OS you named, I would go with the 2000.. Now on to your problem of Win XP not installing. I might just be wrong, but if I remember correctly "ME" was not considered upgradeable. Try upgrading from either a Win 98 or Win2000 install, and I think you might have better luck.

You can't upgrade to XP from Windows 95, you have to have Windows 98 or higher.
 
No matter what windows os i try and install i get the same error...


Also you dont need to have the OS installed to use the upgrade disk, you just need the disk, and you put the disk to proove ownership once it tells you too.
 
help? I bought a new compter to use untill i get it working, but i would like to sell it once i get mine working again, someone please help?

yes its first sata, but its enabled and installed, and that is how my boot order is in the bios

CDROM
HARDDRIVE
DISBALED
boot from other deviced: disabled

any ideas? :(

Try setting the disable and boot from other devices to enable, then load your sata drivers at the F6 option
