installing Windows XP over Ubuntu already installed?

Hi,

I built a pc and installed Ubuntu just to see if things were working. I now have my XP disc and want to use that. Can I just install the XP right over Ubuntu? I'm not really worried about the disk space being used by Ubuntu, only the dual boot option. This is for my brother and I don't want him to have to deal with the dual boot option. I know it's not a big deal, but I'd rather he not have to do it.

If you boot off of the XP CD, just make sure you format your HDD and you won't run into a dual boot option problem

step 1. delete old partitions
step 2. format old partitions
step 3. install Windows XP.

The xp cd walks you through it basically.
