Installing xp Pro on a 64 bit processor?

Is there any reason I cannot install a regular edition of windows xp pro on my machine that has a 64 bit processor. I have had it with the problems and dont want to fight to install anything on my machine anymore. Another question; XP or Vista? Home or Pro edition?

Yes, you can install a 32-bit OS on a 64-bit processor.

If you need to buy an OS, I would go with Vista, either Home Premium or higher.
