how much more CPU power do integrated graphics use than dedicated graphics? do the really tax them or just borrow like 5%?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that integrated video has it's own dedicated processor, and doesn't use much if any more processing power from the CPU as an add-on video card. However it does share the system memory.

That's what I'm thinking, it's still basically a dedicated GPU. The only way you'd take CPU power is if you did some sort of "software" rendering or something like that.

im only asking because when i play games and watch HD movies, the CPU works harder. its probably just processing a different part of it.

Thats because the CPU does a lot of the processing when playing games and watching videos.
