Integrated vs. 6800 or so

Right now I have an integrated video card (Radeon XPress 200). I plan on upgrading the video card soon so that I can play high end games at high settings. For the integrated, what settings should I put so that I can atleast play some games (Call of Duty 2 runs very slow)?

As for a new video card (I was thinking about a 6800GS) I would like to spend as little money as possible without cheaping out. What is the least I should expect to pay for a video card that can run all the good games (HL2, CD2, BF, etc.)?

Integrated Video is bad in general. Try turning the graphics down to the lowest settings, but you may be stuck with a lot of lag and slow gmaes until you upgrade.

A 6800GS will do well at running those games. Look at spending around 200 for one that can run the games you said well. The 6600GT would be bare minimum, and that is down to around 120, but I would go for the 6800GS as you said.

How long should the 6800GS last for future gaming? Is there anything better than the 6800GS at the $200 tops price range?

Well if you want a cheap card that can play those games fairly well, your best bet is a 6600GT for ~$115. But the 6800GS should play all of those games maxed out, depending on your CPU and RAM.

Trial and error :)

See VIDEO CARD 101 for some price sorted reccoemdnations but for $110 or so you can get a very respectable card

Some cards to consider
- Powercolor X800GT16 [$185]
- HIS X800GTO IceQ II Turbo [$195]

How does the X800 line compare to the 6800GS?
Hard to compare and entire lineup to a single card

The 6800GS' are better, but I was just suggesting another line of GPU's.
Hmm Id say the X800XTPE is superior still, ah hell, X800XT even
