can anybody compare those two processor? tell about the information between this 2 processor? I have no idea with this 2 processor. Are they the most "modern" processor? what are their functions? price? Any else.....

if an Intel QX6700 where to take a crap it would use the AMD FX as toilet paper

the Intel is of course the latest and greatest, it is a 4 core CPU, mostly used for severs but can be used for a high high end desktop

FX is the best CPU by AMD currently other than the kentfield

kentfield (4 cores too) again used for severs and high end desktops

Which FX are you talking about? The FX-72 or FX-51?

The QX6700 is a quad-core CPU, while the FX's are single and dual-core. The QX6700 outperforms any FX series by far.

Hi

The Core 2 Duo QX6700 is of course more performant, but why you want it?? It's very expensive (more than 1300$ :| ), and quad-core is not exploited currently. Take an E6600/E6800 :)

very true, which is why overall (especially in games), the X6800 outperforms the QX6700 (the X6800 is clocked higher).

yep. get an e6300 and overclock it. lol
btw there are single and dual core FX processors.
essentially any core 2 duo or athlon 64 (besides maybe 2800+ and 3000+) would be plenty of power...

But as far as I know there are a quad core of FX processors.

FX-70,FX-72 and FX-74 are quad cores
I hate to reiterate what [-0MEGA-] said, but you are completely wrong.

The FX-70, FX-72 and the FX-74 are 4x4 compatible, but are not quad core.

i dare you to try and find an application thats useful to you that uses that kind of power all the time...
quad core is just a waste of electricity in a lot of cases, for the time being...

I'll take that dare :)

Wow back in the time when Athlon 64 FX were talked about! I remember the FX-55 processor I had, that was king back in 2005! Oh those were the days, when 2gb of RAM was ginormous too.
