Nah, I'm pretty sure P33/35 chipsets support the 45nm chips.

The Asus P5K Deluxe supports 1333MHz bus, 45nm CPU's, quad-cores, and more, so you dont have to worry about it becoming old technology for quite some time. But just like anything electronic, something new will come out to replace it.

I believe the socket is 775. 32nm will be a different socket. The Intel X38 chipset is suppose to be the best for the 45nm. The 680i is suppose to support them as well. I'll find out soon enough.
