Surprisingly runs cooler than Phenom II :good:

Unfortunately, the chip didn't shine in all areas; its performance is similar to that of older Core i7 chips when handling less demanding general activities.

However, the Core i9 CPUs fared well when it came to power usage, using less power and running cooler compared to older chips.

Core i7 980 hits ebay for $1,300.:eek::eek:

Looks like it'll be branded Core i9 - and expected release 1st qtr 2010.

You can get a really good central processing unit for around $200 in U.S. dollars. I could see spending more if the computer was used for making money and the processor was needed in their line of work. For personal use I hope to never spend more than $200 on a processor.
