Celeron 440 and 430 are based on Intel Core microarchitecture. These new Celeron models feature 2.0 GHz and 1.8 GHz clock speeds, respectively.

Here is a comparison between Celeron 440 and Athlon 64 3500+

As we can see, the Celeron 440 performs very close to 3500+

Celeron 440 and 430 will be priced $59 and $49, respectively. Both processors will have 512KB L2 cache memory and they are single-core CPU.

Honestly sounds like a pretty good deal... Intel finally has something that can compete at the budget level with AMD.

So this will be better then the current Celeron D b/c it has a 512kb cache vs the 256kb?

Some of the current Celeron D have 512KB cache

The new Celerons 4xx series will be released on June and it will replace the current celeron D

Ouch.. that celeron will probably beat me poor little Athlon64 3200+. No way am I going to let an intel celeron outperform me... time to upgrade :P

Sounds like Intel is stepping up their lower end processors as well. But even the Celeron M's, which are based off the Pentium M architecture, perform much better then they're Sempron counterparts.

Intel finally made something that runs with the Athlons that whipped the Pentium. Is the new Pentium series single core? I am definitely going Dual, if not quad core.

No, the new Pentium series are not single core, they are dual core.

Those would be good for a small business' build, the new Pentium. I really hope they aren't as subsceptible to heat as their ancestors.

If they're Core architecture then they won't be, heck they may even be able to run cooler than the C2D's at the same clock speed.:)
