Intel Celeron g530 vs Amd athlon 255U

Wolfeking, he is the all time responder, just like superman!Im going to bed. Thanks for the info, and got the celeron dual you reccomeded me, thinking about pentium g6 somthing.

I cannot find specifications on an Athlon 255U processor. I could find the Athlon II 250U processor. It is a 25 Watt Dual-Core laptop processor that has a clock speed of 1.6 gigahertz.

The Celeron G530 is a 65 Watt desktop Dual-Core processor that has a clock speed of 2.4 gigahertz.

Almost all desktop processors beat laptop central processing units in processing power which is one of the reasons why I prefer desktop computers over laptops.

The Celeron G530 is only $52. It would be a good processor to put at the heart of a desktop system if you were not running any programs that required a lot of processing power. The Pentium G620 Processor would also be a decent choice.

If you can swing a few extra bucks for the G620 as someone else mentioned, it's a decent bit better. But yeah even still the G530 easily beats the Athlon's even when they are overclocked. It would take around 3.4ghz to match the performance of the G530 and atleast 3.8ghz on the Athlon to match the G620.

If you're not upgrading now, then I'd suggest not trying to decide on what to get :P The new Intel processors should be out soon which may knock down prices on previous models...or simply provide tons of new options :P
