i have bought a new 1gb ram chip to go with my other 1gb ram stick they are both the same speed 533mhz but when i put them both in together windows 7 only recognises 1gb stick and cpu-z only says its running in single channel mode i know the motherboard supports dual channel mode and the ram works in the slot on its own so the ram works but they dont work together and the bios says its only single channel any help would be aprreciated

try turning it off all the way, as in unplug the psu, then after a couple mins, pull both sticks out and put them back in, then if you want you can reset the cmos too, then just plug it in and reboot

hi m8 tried that and didnt work still shows up as single channel even took the battrery out lol i dont know gggrrrr!!!!!

computers lol!!!

Your RAM slot may be fried, also. Try using one stick in the first slot, see if it starts up. Then take it out and use the other stick in the first slot. If it starts up, its not bad RAM. Same thing happened with my old board. The second slot just didn't work anymore.
