ok so what does the intel core 2 duo 1.6 ghz compare to a celeron and a p4. is ti better than a 2.7 ghz celeron?

Yes the Core 2 Duo is better then the Pentium 4's and especially better then Celeron's.

However you have the Pentium Dual-Core, which is basically the Celeron of the Core 2 Duo. Although it's still a great mobile processor.

There's only one 1.6GHz C2D... And you can grab that without looking at Newegg...

No, e2140 is a pentium dual core. Only difference is the name and cache. In all other ways it's a core 2 duo. I'm assuming you knew this, but I felt like saying it anyway.

Well I would assume that the P4 Extreme Edition can probably beat out the lower end Dual Cores without too much trouble in a number of ways. I don't think the celeron can beat much of anything unless you're talking about something other than gaming but I don't know what.
