intel core 2 duo cpu with nothing else !!!!!

I work at a job with an it department that leaves shit laying around like cpu's, fans, monitors, etc. but I happened to pick up a core 2 duo the other day and wanna use it in my new build (P5nsli motherboard socket 775) wondering how can I get the drivers cd ? and any other tips that would be helpful I would appreciate, like how much ram to use and the best video/sound card to use ? this is my first build and still learning, wont use computer for gaming just media type stuff.
 
which core 2 is it exactly?

for the mobo drivers, you can just DL it off asus's website from another computer and either burn it on a CD or save to a flash drive. install it on your new comp after you install the OS. for memory, pretty much any ddr2 2x2gb kit would be nice, or you can get a 2x1gb ddr2 800 for dirt cheap nowadays. any PCI-e video card would work since all you need a a display and no gaming. the mobo already has onboard sound, so no soundcard needed. you would probably want an SATA hard drive, but if cant get one, and IDE one also works.
 
the computer should work without drivers, just download them and install them from the computer itself. the processor does not require drivers at all.

hell yeah they dont log them or anything and they just did upgrades so what are they going to do with the parts

Ok, a single core 1.2 Ghz Celeron is one thing, but a new, incredibly capable CPU that could have any one of at least a dozen applications in a dozen different scenarios is another. For that reason alone, I think you're an ass for doing it, and I hope someone notices it missing and starts asking questions. Regardless of their procedures and/or practices, it's their equipment, not yours. The next time you leave $150 sitting on a table, I sincerely hope someone pockets it.

And FWIW, anyone who asks about a Driver CD for a CPU probably shouldn't be building their own system. Just my two cents.
