Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 to be launched January 21st

Seems like it's identical to the E6300, except that it has a 200Mhz FSB (800Mhz effective bus), and doesnt have Virtualization Technology, which is a bummer, but for the price who can complain?

But the overclocking results are excellent for such a low-end chip. Maybe i'll get one of those later on :P

It does have the 9x multi, which is nice for the motherboards that don't overclock quite as nicely. Still, though, with some motherboards being able to get up to 500FSB, the E6300 is still a great processor.

I find it pretty funny what they say about the overclocked E4300:
The overclocked Core 2 Duo E4300 is impressive: clocked at 3.42GHz, it is 10-15% faster than the Core 2 Duo Extreme X6800 despite having half the amount of cache memory!

Do they take into consideration that the X6800, given it has twice the cache, is also clocked at only 2.93Ghz, vs the 3.42Ghz of the OC'd E4300?
