How is the Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q6600? :)
I tried comparing it to AMD 64 x2 6000+ and it was better than it in most cases.

Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q6600: better than AMD 64 x2 6000+ and Intel Core 2 Duo E6600? :)

..in terms of both gaming and multitasking.

yes i would.
say what you want about quads and what not but the reason why i would say stick with a core 2 duo E6600 is only because what really is the use of four cores. i mean think about it? unless your a hardcore gamer which he didnt say if he was or not there arent really any games yet that will utilize the four cores. Except crysis and we wont even know how good it will run it. there is no software that utilize it either. so i say stick to a core 2 duo and wait a while till we get really performance lacking software then we can talk. unless you are buying the quad on the 22nd for the price cut that would be the only reason why i would say take it. thats pretty much it. would you not say i am rite. or pretty much rite? give me your thoughts.

Yes you are right when you say there is no software to utilize four cores, but thats only for a little while longer. When all software becomes multi-threaded, your gonna have to upgrade, so why not upgrade now?
 
It should only better be better in SOME cases, where programs actually make use of the 4 cores... otherwise the Q6600 should be equal to the E6600 which should JUST be better the the 6000+.
 
The E6600 is pretty much equal to the Q6600 in all games, and most programs, but the newer games that are coming out such as Crysis, which will support 4 or more cores.
