Intel cpus

Depends on what the computer's going to be used for. For heavy games, file compression, heavy video/graphics editing I'd say yes. But thenagain, if you did any of those you'd probably go with a better CPU anyway...

If all you do on a pc is surf and e-mail, maybe play a few old games, write and print off stuff then its ok, but if your doing as hackapelite says heavy gaming video/gaming editing etc then go for the extra 1mb cache you will notice the difference

Wait...how did this start being about Pentium Ds?

Omegas correct, they are COMPLETELY different, and there is no need to post about the pentium D. Hell, the poster already got his answer.

It is...... means that yes it is different. I was agreeing with you.
Ok, thats not what it sounded like however.

It's a Pentium Dual-Core, not a Pentium D.

It is...

Hope you see where I was coming from.

Not sure why it does not sound like it......... However, I am sure that it is just me and not you. Most people do not understand what I mean when I talk to them face to face. I am just a horrible communicator I suppose, lol. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Whats done is done, lol, back on topic! :P

Wow sorry about all of the trouble I caused there...I meant "Pentium Dual Core" when I said "Pentium D". I was trying to abbreviate but didn't think about the actual "Pentium D" CPU.

As for the 5FPS increase in gaming, I bet the C2D would show bigger gains in things like video editing, WinRAR, etc than it would in gaming.
