Intel D845EPI Problem

Hi there,

I just got a free computer and find that the silly thing won't start, new PSU, green light on the board is on, however, no boot, everything is disconnected except for ram, cpu, and video. Any suggestions? Would a bios reset help this, or am I looking at a hardware issue?

The person that gave it to me said that one day, it simply didn't start, where as it had the day before. Heat sink and fan are clean, almost no dust in the box itself.

Well, that's really all I know, let's see what swims up out of the dark to answer.

Any blown capacitors or broken solder links? 845 is rather old - it's possible it just died with no discernible reason, things like that happen sometimes. You could try resetting CMOS, but seeing as how you should at least be seeing *something* as-is, it's probably a moot point.

I didn't see any physical damage when I flipped the board over, so no traces looked burned, and none of the capacitors looked popped. i try resetting the cmos and see if that works.
