Intel i7 920 suport 3 sticks of RAM?

So ive been having problems with my system since I built it. Someone recently suggested that its because I have 3 sticks of 1GB Ram in it and that my processor is only dual channel not triple channel. I have read that my CPU is triple channel though which is somewhat confusing. Could this be why I am getting various errors with my system? If so this could put to rest about 1 month and a half of trying to fix my computer. (Very frustrating)
 
Yes, the LGA 1366 motherboards support triple channel, if that's what you were asking, not sure due to the way you put it.

And even if you have different pairs in, for example, if I tried to run triple channel with my proc, it'd just run in single channel.

looking at the manual I had them arranged A_0 B_0 and C_0, which I believe is right. I tried it once in the other slots and it didnt boot.

What exactly is the problem you are experiencing. If it's just that the RAM is not registering at the stated speed of 1333 - you would need to adjust the timing and voltage in your BIOS. My Ram is 1600 and I had to do this. My PC still ran fine at the default lower speed - but since I had the headroom in the RAM - I wanted to take advantage of it.

The case that came with your RAM should state the voltage and timing - you need to enter those manually into your BIOS.
 
ok awesome this appears to be a simple fix to a problem thats been buggin me for a good month now. How do I adjust the timing in BIOS?
 
dont know how can I check? I am almost positive all I need to know is change the BIOs setting to accept the right timing for my RAM, due to reviews of my RAM online.
 
as a Greenhorn - setting my Memory Timing - I was able to figure out my BIOS by just jumping around in the menus til I figured it out. Took me about 10 minutes. But here's an article

That will give you a basic understanding of BIOS if you are interested in reading it first.

P 11-13 cover RAM in the BIOS. BIOS menus vary from motherboard - to motherboard but they are pretty common in general - for basic functions like changing memory timing.
 
ok so i changed my ram timings to 9-9-9-24 adn set my voltage to (1.49V), but the problem still happens, I keep getting memory management blue screen and other wierd stuff. what is my next step in diagnosing this? memtest64+?

You should have 3 sticks in.

What are your problems? Have you tried memtest?
